Contacting Transport for London

published on: 21/12/11

Transport for London (TfL) is responsible for everything that happens on the A406 North Circular Road and the A10 Great Cambridge Road.  So, if you have any complaints about the A406 or the A10, do not waste your time contacting Enfield Council but get straight on to TfL.

If you are enquiring about emergency and general maintenance on the A406 or the A10 the person to contact is Gary Steward, who is the TfL’s Highway Operations Manager North area:
e-mail GarySteward@tfl.gov.uk or telephone 0845 365 3100.

If he is not available, his boss is Graham Vowles, who is TfL’s Head of Highway Operations:
e-mail GrahamVowles@tfl.gov.uk or telephone 020 3054 1311.

If you are enquiring about a scheme on the A406 or the A10 that is under construction, or that you know is in the process of being designed, the person to contact is Nick Atkinson, who is TfL’s Development and Delivery Manager North area:
e-mail NickAtkinson@tfl.gov.uk or telephone 020 7618 7907.

If you think that a new scheme is needed anywhere on the A406 or the A10 the person to contact is Chris Tudor, who is TfL’s Planning Manager North area:
e-mail ChrisTudor@tfl.gov.uk  or telephone 020 3054 1807

If he is not available, his boss is Chris Martin, who is TfL’s Head of Planning Unit:
e-mail ChrisMartin2@tfl.gov.uk  or telephone 020 3054 1746

All traffic lights (including pedestrian crossings that are controlled by traffic lights) are also TfL’s responsibility, regardless of where they are in the Borough.  To report anything that is wrong with any traffic lights the telephone number to call is 0845 6061005.

Although TfL are responsible for traffic lights, and for bus stops/shelters, on all of Enfield’s roads you should get in contact with Enfield Council if you think that any new ones should be provided or existing ones altered, in any way.

The person to contact is Liam Mulrooney who is Enfield Council’s Group Leader Traffic, Road Safety & Parking in its Traffic & Transportation Service:
e-mail Liam.Mulrooney@enfield.gov.uk or telephone 020 8379 3550.

Enfield Trading Standards are warning Enfield residents to be on their guard when it comes to the London TV region switch from analogue to digital in April 2012.

Posing as engineers, rogue trader’s prey on their victims and convince them to part with more money than necessary. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the same people are often involved in distraction burglary to gain access to the victim’s home.

If you are approached by someone you suspect may be a rogue trader, please report it to consumer direct on 01622 626 536

Enfield Trading Standards are urging residents to check with Digital UK, who are a not for profit organisation responsible for leading the UK digital TV switchover for advice.

Three CPZ Consultations

published on: 02/12/11

Following various public consultations about proposed revisions to the existing Gordon Hill Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and the creation of completely new CPZs around Chase Farm and North Middlesex Hospitals, Enfield Council has now published the legal Traffic Orders which will allow all three of these schemes to go ahead.

The Traffic Orders and plans showing the details of these changes can be inspected at the Civic Centre

Anyone who wants to object to any of these proposals should do so by writing to the Head of Traffic and Transportation Services, Civic Centre, Silver Street Enfield EN1 3XD.  Objections to the North Middlesex Hospital CPZ must be sent to the Council by 5th December and objections to the Chase Farm Hospital CPZ and the Gordon Hill CPZ revisions must be sent the Council by 13th December 2011.

Anyone who wants to discuss any of these parking proposals with me is very welcome to contact me at roberttaylor1024@btinternet.com
